Customising display of MOTION METRIQs

Customising display of MOTION METRIQs

Introduction

The MOTION METRIQs panel, on the right-hand side of Step 2, shows the instantaneous or captured values for all of the metrics calculated by Velogic Studio.
In addition to the default view, Velogic Studio Labs has a powerful customisation capabiltiy, so you can be in full control of which metrics you want to see at different stages of the fit.

How to customise

To start customising, just click the wrench icon at the top right of the MotionMetriqs panel:

You will see a new full-screen modal window dedicated to configuration:

By default, you will see a single column of metrics, called “All Metrics”. If you have already used the previous configuration system, these actions will be familiar, you can:
  1. Click the pencil icon to rename metrics
  2. Click the checkbox icon to show/hide the metric
  3. Drag a metric to a different sort order (inside the same group)
  4. Drag a group to change its sort order compared to other groups.
When you click done, those customisations will be reflected in the MotionMetriqs area in Step 2 of the application.

Adding a new tab

The real magic happens when you click the “Add tab” button. You’ll see a
new, blank column added:

Give the tab a name (short is best) and click Done. Now, you can start configuring the new tab:
  1. Drag a group from the “All metrics” tab to copy that group into the new tab
  2. Or, click “Add group” to create a new group from scratch
Groups on these custom tabs are more powerful that the groups in the “All metrics” tab. You can:
  1. Remove items from the custom group by clicking the X icon
  2. Drag individual metrics from completely different groups onto a custom group
  3. Drag to reorder items within a custom group
  4. Drag to reorder groups within a custom tab

When you have finished customising, just click Done, and you’ll now see a tab selector strip at the top of the MotionMetriqs area:

Clicking a different tab changes the MotionMetriqs area to only display the groups and items that you’ve configured for that tab:

Importing and exporting

If you have a configuration that you want to share with someone else, or want to move to another computer, or want to backup, you can do that by Exporting the configuration. Just click on the Export button at the top of the configuration window:

By default, the configuration file will be saved to your desktop, but you can email it or move it to a backup drive or cloud sync folder for safekeeping.
To apply that same configuration to a different computer, just click Import and browse to find the file to import.

Ways to use this customisation capability

  1. You could create a custom tab for “sizing” fits vs post-purchase fits
  2. You could create a custom tab for each different stage of your fit process
  3. When just starting out, you could create a custom tab with just the basic metrics
