We're trialling the use of a forum at Velogic. Initially it is only open to Velogic staff and small, select group of users. If you've been asked to join the forum, please follow the instructions on this page.
Signing up
Note that there is no link between your forum username/password and your Velogic account; so you can use whatever password you like when signing up. It's helpful (but not required) that you use the same email address for the forum as you use for your Velogic account, just to help us know who you are.
You will be given a link which will take you to a page like this:
Fill in the required fields and click "Accept invitation". You'll then see:
At this point, get in touch with us to let us know you've registered and we'll approve the account.
Basic navigation
When you've successfully signed in, you should be in the "Everything" view, which show most recent activity at the top. If you ever find yourself lost, just click the "Everything" link at the top-left of the screen to get back here.
You can click on any of the topics to read them & if you have something to add, you can click "Reply". You can also click "New Topic" to discuss something new.
Initially there's only one active category on the forum: "Labs", which is for discussion on active development work. This is where we'll announce new releases into the Labs environment, and where you can discuss new features and report any bugs or oddities you encounter.
Setting notifications
One of the most important features of the forum is the notifications. We want to keep you up-to-date with the announcements and discussion, without bombarding you with messages. The forum strikes a nice balance here; you can register to receive notification of activity in the Labs category via email, so you can quickly see what's new and only access the forum if you want to read more or have something to add to the discussion.
To setup notifications, first click on the "Labs" link in the navigation bar:
... then click on the bell icon:
... and set the notification level to "Watching":
Then, enjoy reading any of the previous posts that take your interest, to get an idea of how the forum works; when you're ready, create a post to introduce yourself to the group.
