A comprehensive guide to the three-step bike fitting process in Velogic Studio
After starting Velogic Studio (and optionally signing in, if you haven't signed in recently), you'll see Step 1:
Step 1 is for you to get all setup prior to the fit session commencing. The client name, email and bike brand/model are used on the report at the end of the fit process.
On the right-hand side you can set details of your client:
Name, email, bike brand/model: these are included on the report
Fitter: you can set up a list of different people who conduct fits in your studio (click Settings button to set these up). Pick one from the drop-down to include it on the report.
Position for fit - choose Road, Tri or Mtb. Your choice here will dictate the position of measurement points, and which body metrics are displayed for the rider.
The "Reopen Session" button allows you find and open a previously-saved session.
The left-hand side of step 1 is all about configuring the sources of fit data. This might be your Kinect or Orbbec camera(s), but you can also specify webcams, ANT dongles/devices, and more.
Scroll down to make sure that your input sources are configured correctly, then click "Next" to go to the capture screen.
Step 2 is where most of the action happens during a fit.
The Liveview section shows the video input from connected cameras. When you have a capture locked for review, these will change to show the captured video.
This displays numeric information from your fit sources. Most metrics come from the Kinect or Orbbec camera, but you'll also see data from any ANT+ devices you've got connected, and a system-calculated cadence metric.

The "strip" along the bottom of the screen is the fit log. It shows all of the captures you've taken, and there are many ways that you can interact with it. See Reviewing fit artifacts for more detail.
On the right of the fit log is the Capture section.
When you want to evaluate the current position of your rider, make sure the rider is pedaling at a realistic cadence and click the "Start capture" button. You'll see a short countdown, and then the system will capture data for a 15-second period.
During the capture period, the system will start displaying data while it continues capturing. You can enter notes in the textbox during the capture (or before or afterwards) to help remember why you captured this position.
When the capture period has finished, you can save or discard the capture. If you save the capture, it will be added to the Fit Log section at the bottom.
The "Measure bike" button takes you through a process using the measurement wand to capture the location in space of specific points on the bike, and calculate measurements from those. See Taking bike measurements for more about this.
Once you've completed the fit, taking as many captures as required, click Next to progress from the capture screen to the report screen.
The report page prepares and previews a full fit report, incorporating:
the images and metrics from your initial & final captures
bike measurements, either entered manually or taken automatically with the measurement wand
your commentary, either entered directly into a textbox on this Step 3 or into a Microsoft Word document.
