Taking bike measurements

Step-by-step guide for using the measurement wand to capture bike geometry measurements for road, triathlon, and mountain bike setups.

On the capture screen you will see a button for "MEASURE BIKE":

Clicking "MEASURE BIKE" will open the bike measurement popup window:

Follow the instructions on screen to use the wand to acquire the indicated points. Once you have acquired a point a red dot will appear on the image. If the dot is not aligned with the image you can click "Redo" to re-acquire.

Measurement points differ slightly between road, mountainbike and tri disciplines. This document will show all Road measurement points, and then points which differ for mountainbike and tri disciplines.

Road

&#xNAN;Bottom Bracket measurement point

&#xNAN;Seat post head measurement point

&#xNAN;Tip of saddle measurement point

&#xNAN;Centre of saddle measurement point (use your green saddle jig)

&#xNAN;Frame x y - centre top of the head tube, under the spacers

&#xNAN;Curve of far hood measurement point

&#xNAN;Top of handlebar measurement point

&#xNAN;Bar end near drop measurement point

If the diameter of the bars is something other than 31.8mm use the drop down box at lower left to select a value. If the bar diameter isn't in the list, choose "Custom" and manually type the bar diameter.

When all measurement points are captured, and the bar diameter is correct, click Next.

On step 2 you will see the bike measurements as well as free text fields to record bike details:

You can manually alter the bike measurements by clicking on the field. For instance - many road handlebars have flared drops so it is hard to get an accurate measurement when comparing tops and drops. In this case you could choose to measure across either the hoods or drops and enter the value into the HANDLE BAR WIDTH row.

For the setup details you can enter any value.

Once complete press Finish. Your bike measurements will be saved into the fit log, and the initial and final bike measurements will be included on the fit report.

Videos

This video shows the measurement process for a bike on a trainer.

The process is essentially the same for a fit bike:

Triathlon

If you've chosen Tri position for the fit, the measurement points taken around the handlebars will change to the points shown below.

Tri - left pad rear

Tri - right pad rear

Tri - Hoods

Tri - extension tip

Mountainbike

If you've chosen MTB position for the fit, the measurement points taken around the handlebars will change to the points shown below.

MTB - Left bar end

MTB - Right bar end
